When you walk into this restaurant you're hit with a strong aroma of peppercorn spice. This restaurant is perfect for the average person who loves numbing Szechuan spice. They also sell interesting dishes like rabbit here.
[Items Tried]
*MUST TRY* Beijing Cold Jelly Noodles - ~$7 (5/5)
Taste: This dish has thinly sliced starch jelly noodles that are mildly addicting (and when I say mildly, I actually mean extremely). Seasoned with chili oil, sesame oil, and vinegar, this dish becomes more flavourful as you keep eating it but at a spice level that is just right.
Size: Good for 2 people - appetizer size.
Szechuan Spicy Fish - ~$20 (4/5)
Taste: Cod fillets and bean sprouts drenched in a numbing peppercorn soupy oil. Upon the first few bites, you would think that this lacks spice, but the spice build up becomes quite strong after finishing the entire dish. I think that they control this aspect of the dish very well to allow you to keep wanting to eat it. My only critique is that the fish could be more fresh as I believe it was previously frozen, but I can't complain for the price.
Size: Good for 2-3 people. TIP: Make sure to order rice on the side to fill you up and also absorb all the oil (otherwise, the outcome in the washroom may be disastrous!)
[Value for Money]
The price for the dishes is extremely affordable and they have good combo sets that are at a reasonable price point with a good selection of signature Chengdu dishes. I'll definitely be back to try more of their offerings. -

I came back again recently with more people to enjoy
the food here, while the dishes we ordered were all very authentic and delicious the service from all but one person in this restaurant was quite rude and harsh. They honestly spoke to us like we owe them money and below them. Even the kids we came with were asking why the servers seem so cranky. I'm afraid I must downgrade my rating due to this experience. -

We went to this reataurant for late lunch and ordered a fish dish (沸腾鱼)and fuqifeipian (夫妻肺片). The ingredients were stale and the amount of food was pathetic. We also found hair in the fish dish. They did not charge us for that dish. Still hungry, we decided to give them another chance and ordered chicken and pork intestines...however the ingredients seemed to be leftovers again (we couldn't find a complete piece of chicken meat in the entire dish, and they probably used less than 7cm of pork intestines) for a dish that's priced at 26 dollars....we were very disappointed and told them our concerns but they argued with us saying that they used a whole chicken....it was such a bad experience. We will never go back to this restaurant again.

I can't say enough good things about this place!! Firstly however, for those that complain this place has bad service, your loss.
This place is an authentic Chengdu restaurant and the culture of service in mainland China (and a lot of other places) isn't high on niceties. If the choice was between authentic food and service with a smile, I'll choose the former every single time.
Now, on to the food. I always get my go to: Dan Dan Noodles. For those looking for the peanut/sesame version, looks elsewhere. This is the kind with garlic and buckets of chilli oil. Sooooo good!
Their dumplings are also great and I've tried a few mains that were excellent as well.
Why are you still reading this?? Go there! -

Totally delicious, no stomach ache afterwards.
Usually spicy at this level makes your stomach feel funny the next day but here the ingredients are so basic and pure that it's hard not to eat the soup!
